Myths about Career Counselling

Myths about Career Counselling

Well, just if in case you think that it is a fancy trend to go for a career counselling, and that of it is all the same as a coaching centre. Let' debunk many of the doubts and give a clearer view of what exactly career counselling entails.

Myth : To think career counselling as it is all about placements in the top colleges and that the counsellor's job is to ensure that the students are placed in their (or their parent's) desired colleges.
Truth : Career counselling is all about making students understand what they want to do, and what they can do and to bridge the gap between these two aspects.

Myth : It is much more beneficial and fruitful for high achieving students as they stand higher chance for getting in high ranking universities.
Truth : High achieving students will manage their way to such universities. Career counselling is mainly for two tier and three tier students, who can actually bring out something out of such counselling. Also, career counsellingtries to help those students who can do wonders with the help of some assitance.

Myth : Career counselling  mainly and only focuses on careers to opt by students and their colleges.
Truth : Understanding the fact that choosing a career for any student is as personal as their family dynamics, financial status or anything of this level. Hence, a career counsellor does deal with many and various personal issues of the student opting for a career counselling.

Myth : A very often assumed myth is that a career counselling is all about telling a student what career he or she should opt.
Truth : Instead, a career cousellor's job is to facilitate students in understanding, what they are interested in, and that if they have the ability to pursue the same in future in a successful pace.

Myth : A hobby can never become anyone's career.
Truth : A career counsellor understands it all and also tries to guide the students with all the possible options which will help a students to use their hobby as a career.

Myth : A career counsellor is as someone as same as of those agents who sends students to study abroad.
Truth : A career cousellor is not an agent or anyone close to it. Infact, an agent has limited set of universities in their panel. However, a counsellor has no such restrictions also, for them the options are plenty and sky is the limit.

Myth : A career counsellor is a fortuneteller who can just tell everyone's future through their crystal ball.
Truth : As much as a career counsellor would love to predict the future till the end dot, it is just not in their power. With the help of past some years survey and format they can predict a little about the downlane of the careers for the future, but surely, can never calculate the amoutof paycheck a student will be making, say after 10 years.

Therefore, career counselling has much more expanded horizon which should be considered as an integral part of any school or a college cirriculam. Also, that career counselling should be introduced not only before three months of leaving school rather, much more before i.e. in the class 9th, where students start thinking about choosing the stream after their 10th grade.

ADOLESCENT LYING

It's almost certain that your teen has lied or will lie to you about something at some point during their teenage years. A prerequisite for learning anything of value from this article is first admitting that to yourself. It is not without irony that the first point we offer about teens lying is that you should not lie to yourself about it because TEENS DO LIE. Parents usually remain calm during the years when lies take the form of fantastical stories and denials of cookie jar raids. However when it is an older child who is lying, most parents' alarm bells begin clanging, despite lying being part and parcel of child development. Like adults, teens aspire to be better than they are, something that provides them with ample reasons to hide the truth. Lies are statements intended to create a false belief or impression. They are attempts to get someone to believe something that is not true and are typically motivated by a desire to get others to do something or make a ...

Perception; a cause to difference

Perception has been a lot more than what we have always thought of it as. It is not just any concept but it is a road to the journey called “LIFE”. It is a process to unfold “self knowledge”. It is an ability to see things differently. Using outside as stimuli for your perception but the reality always comes from your inner self knowledge. Therefore, it is your inner self who perceive the outside in a certain ways. Broadly talking, perception is not what our eyes, ears and other sensory experiences tells us; it is what our brain makes us see and hear and feel. Meaning how an individual’s own experiences, intensity of senses, cognition capabilities, childhood learnings truly affect the way one perceives the outside rationally making a huge difference in an individual’s life. Let me Just try to explain how our mental health is actually being highly flown by our own perception and, how the perception can play a devil or an angel to our thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It is because ...
